Performance 1: Anna Rimmel

7:30 p.m. - I floor, hall

"Here is too...here is and..." is a performance by Anna Rimmel. The performance takes the form of a toast, exploring how it feels to desire and step forth into the world in a moment of aesthetic adventure. Touching upon ideas of consciousness, collectivity and love, it offers a poetic meditation on being in the universe and what it is to desire in a given moment of time.

Anna Rimmel is an artist and lives in Vienna. She studies sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. At the heart of her work is the construction of desire and the question of how we construct meaning in the world around us in an age of informational and sensory overload. She explores these processes using a phenomenology of contemporary media forms. Rimmel is interested in how the fluctuating materialities of images and languages can narrate our experiences of information and the systems that structure and organize it. Her work has been shown at the Kunsthalle Bratislava, mumok Vienna, BACC Bangkok, Trauma Berlin and at international film festivals.

Performance 2: Cezary Bodzianowski

8:00 p.m. - ground floor, hall

Cezary Bodzianowski - artist, he authored over a thousand performances and events, usually involving short scenes. Sometimes it's simply a surprise appearance in a specific disguise or with a prop; sometimes it's an extended role, such as a PE teacher or a lecturer. Artistic gestures include telephoning reports from a distant location, posting posters about his own disappearance and the disappearance of several objects, but also using details of urban architecture, which Bodzianowski repurposed, such as a tram stop railing destroyed in an accident into a musical instrument. The artist appears everywhere: on the street, on tram tracks, in an underpass, behind the window of a café, in a bookstore, in the square in front of a police station, in a school, in a circus, in an office, swimming across a pond, appearing in a treetop, and in the pages of a daily newspaper; and also in cultural institutions, museums, and galleries, such as the Tate Modern in London or the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He performs regularly in Łódź (where he lives), and relatively often at the Muzeum Sztuki. Winner of the 2013 Katarzyna Kobro Award.

9:00 p.m. – concert: Anton Lukoszevieze

Born in 1965, Anton Lukoszevieze – the descendant of a French soldier in Napoleon's army and a Lithuanian aristocrat – is a versatile artist: cellist, composer, improviser, and interdisciplinary creator. He is the founder and director of the legendary music group Apartment House, with whom he has recorded over 50 albums. His latest solo album, "Le Jardin des Plantes," was released on the prestigious Trilogy Tapes label, confirming his position as one of the most original voices in the contemporary experimental scene. During the opening evening, the artist will present a new project inspired by the work of Władysław Strzemiński – a pioneer of the avant-garde and co-founder of the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. The project was commissioned specifically by Sanatorium of Sounds and the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź.

10:00 p.m. – DJ set: daisy cutter

daisy cutter - DJ, art historian, and curator. A classical pianist by training, she holds a Master's degree in Art History and graduated from the Faculty of Visual Culture Management at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She is interested in contemporary performance, dance and social choreography, yoga, and bodywork. She is a co-founder of the FLAUTA collective, which organizes benefit events supporting people with refugee experience, and of Radio Kapitał. As a DJ, she focuses on exploring sound as a space for activist action and collective dance as a place for initiating temporary or lasting communities.
