TRANSLOCAL: MUSEUM AS TOOLBOX
In October 2015 Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź joined an international two-year, multistage project financed with European Union funds aimed at generating innovative communication tools that will be used by museums involved in the project . Project participants are museums in comparable settings when it comes to their location, collections, size, educational programmes, and challenges. Under the project all cooperating institutions – 5 museums focused on contemporary art – will be confronted with two problem areas: working with „young adult” audience aged 15-25 (identified as hard to reach) and collaboration with local initiatives. The project – delivered at education, curator and artist level – will be conducted and evaluated based on the preliminary research stage that studied various tools of communication with the audience.
The following five museums are engaged in the project: Universalmuseum Joanneum GmbH (Austria) – leader, Art Museum of Estonia (Estonia), Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb (Croatia), Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź (Poland), and Kunstmuseum (Liechtenstein).
Project duration: 01.10.2015-30-09.2017
Project co-funded under the European Union programme "Creative Europe"
