Opening of the Study Warehouse - May 2018

Thanks to funds from European Funds, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź has just completed the construction of a modern Studio Warehouse at Więckowskiego 36 St., which has been ongoing for two years. The unique nature of the new space uncompromisingly combines rigorous rules for securing collections and requirements for storing works of art with interesting and convenient methods of making museum's collection available to visitors. The construction of the Study Warehouse will allow educators to show the museum "from the inside". The plan is to prepare workshops on such important functions of the museum as, among others: collecting, transporting and storing collections, arranging exhibition spaces and conserving works of art.

We invite you to Muzeum Sztuki at Więckowskiego 36 St. for the first workshop classes and a concert organized on the occasion of the completion of the construction of the Study Warehouse on May 12:

We invite children aged 7 and over to free workshops, which will take place in the newly opened space of the Studio Warehouse of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. Classes devoted to contemporary art will be conducted by employees of the Museum Education Department. The workshops will allow you to become familiar with the problem of storing works of art. Under the supervision of educators, participants in the workshops will learn detailed methods of storing modern and contemporary art works depending on their type (painting, sculpture, etc.)

Adults are not allowed to attend this meeting - after all, the youngest also need a break from the constant care of their parents.

BNNT CONCERT

On Saturday evening in the courtyard of Muzeum Sztuki at Więckowskiego 36 St., you will be able to see how dense two instruments can sound. Especially when one of them is a drum set and the other is a baritone string projectile of his own construction. We invite you to the BNNT concert!

This is not an ordinary band, it is an experiment. These are Konrad Smoleński and Daniel Szwed, an uncompromising duo without shirts but wearing balaclavas, whose performance is a guarantee of extreme visual and auditory experiences. The artists represent the independent label Instant Classic, for which they recently recorded the well-received album "Multiverse".

Admission to the concert is free.

Total value of the project: PLN 9,439,006.66.

The project is implemented with funding from the "Infrastructure and Environment Operational Program for 2014-2020."

Co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund amounts to: PLN 6,577,249.31.

Completion time: September 19, 2016 – June 30, 2018

The project also received funding from the Marshal's Office of the Lodzkie Region.
