„Mirosław Bałka (b.1958, Warsaw, Poland) is one of the most significant artists of his generation. This catalogue documents Mirosław Bałka: Nerve. Construction exhibition at Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź - the first such broad and comprehensive presentation of the artist's work to date. It presents works created over the course of more than three decades, from diverse moments of the artist's practice to contemporary site-specyfic commissions realised for the historical interiors of the museum. Most of them were shown to the public for the first time. Essays by Marta Dziewańska, Zbigniew Mikołejko, Allegra Pesenti and Kasia Redzisz analyse works included in the exhibition, defining new interpreteational contexts for Bałka's practice. They are accompanied by the full photographic documentation of the show”.
