Completion of construction works - press conference
The Study Warehouse is part of the complex of Museum buildings located at the intersection of Więckowskiego and Gdańska streets. The actions taken were aimed at stopping the progressive degradation of the building and creating a suitable place for the works collected by Muzeum Sztuki.
The reconstruction of the existing facility included adapting it to new spatial arrangements, including: by removing partition walls, demolishing attics, replacing ceilings and modernizing elements of internal installations. A new, two-story building was built on the basis of structural walls. On the ground floor of the west wing there are workshops and social and sanitary rooms for employees. On the first floor, in the western part, there is a warehouse for works, intended primarily for sculptures and large-format objects. The building has been fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The facility includes, among others, raster technical ceilings, epoxy-quartz floors, the latest gas extinguishing system and precision air conditioning cabinets. Free transport between floors will be possible thanks to a passenger and goods lift. The facade imitates a mirror in an unobtrusive way, enlarging the garden space and reflecting the Poznański Palace opposite. Contemporary solutions are very well integrated into the historic surroundings of Muzeum Sztuki.
The project is implemented with funding from the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Program for 2014-2020.

The national contribution in connection with the implementation of the EU project "Studio warehouse for Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź - J building", implemented by the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, was provided by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
