“Beyond” – is a video-critical commentary by Ukrainian art historian and researcher Kateryna Badianova that was created during her residency in the Muzeum Sztuki.

As Badianova explains:
“In the permanent exhibition of the museum’s collection Atlas of Modernity, I tried to take a critical look at the historical narratives, and at the ways of seeing and feelings offered to the viewers. Simultaneously, I contextualized my own complex situations of the one who intervenes. It is a view from the place of the observer, researcher, artist, mother, refugee, and someone who experiences war, and ruins.
Kateryna Badianova is an art historian and artist. Her artistic research interests include contemporary museology, art theory, and art education. She is a member of the curatorial union Hudrada (http://hudrada.tumblr.com/) and co-founder of Method Fund (www.methodfund.org). Since 2012, she has cocurated Course of Art, an independent educational program in Kyiv. Currently, she’s in a residency at the Muzeum Sztuki.

«В "Атласі модерності" я спробувала критично поглянути на історичні наративи та способи бачення й відчуття, запропоновані аудиторії. Водночас я контекстуалізую власну ситуацію людини, яка втручається у виставку. Це погляд з місця спостерігачки, дослідниці, художниці, матері, біженки й людини, що переживає війну і руїни».
Катерина Бадянова – дослідниця мистецтва та художниця. Сфера її дослідницьких інтересів включає сучасну музеологію, теорію мистецтва та художню освіту. Живе та працює в Києві. Учасниця кураторського об'єднання Худрада (http://hudrada.tumblr.com/) та співзасновниця Метод Фонду (www.methodfund.org). З 2012 року є співкураторкою незалежної освітньої програми «Курс мистецтва» в Києві. Наразі перебуває на резиденції в Музеї Мистецтва в Лодзі.
