Save as draft 02: Brokat Films
Between 11 May and 1 June 2020, the Brokat Films duo took over our Instagram. Did they look at the museum collection as a huge pantry filled with delicacies and prepare an exquisite banquet? Check their artworks on Muzeum Sztuki's Instagram.
“Would Tytus Czyżewski have dinner prepared by Brokat Films? Blending flavours:
a pinch of avant-garde, three tablespoons of nutmeg and two bodies. A 3D mixture of colours and inspirations. Futuristic entertainment or streaming art and pixelated identities: never before has transgressing bodily limitations been so colourful and deprived of good taste!”
~Brokat Films
Brokat Films (Glitter Films)– is an artistic duo created on YouTube in March 2016 by a painter Sasa Lubińska and Joanna Pawłowska. Using the ‘do it yourself’ aesthetics and cliches of the Internet culture, the artists make videos that explore conventions such as a cooking show, beauty vlog or coaching sessions.
The aim of Safe as draft is to use artworks from the museum’s collections within Instagram. The project is based on the idea of "prototypes". Invited creators will work with the unique "database", which are resources of Muzeum Sztuki, using the tools available on the platform, such as posts, tags, lives, augmented reality (AR) filters, gifs and videos. Artists will treat the digitized museum collections as the titular "drafts" of their practices.
