Invitation letter from Jarosław Suchan

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Restrictions resulting from the pandemic are slowly being lifted. Seeking to get in touch with the world outside and longing for meeting other people, increasingly more willingly we leave our homes and avail ourselves of available leisure activities. The threat is still there and we need to adhere to exceptional preventive measures, nevertheless, we are aware that being with other people and meeting our intellectual and emotional needs are as important for our wellbeing as physical health.

To meet these needs since May 12, 2020 all venues of Muzeum Sztuki are open to the public again and utmost care is taken of hygiene and safety measures. On my own behalf and on behalf of the museum’s Team I would like to wholeheartedly invite you, our long-awaited visitors!

On the one hand, the new opening of Muzeum Sztuki is an attempt to return to normal operations, on the other hand, we need to adapt to changed circumstances. This is why the opening of our latest exhibition ”Teresa Tyszkiewicz: Day After Day“ will follow a rather unusual and special agenda: on May 29 we will be waiting for you since the morning at ms2, where the exhibition will be presented while in the evening we encourage you to take part in the opening organised online on the ms Facebook profile.

Much to our regret we have to suspend our opening meetings in their previous format. But we want to offer you a compensation, i.e., a new guided tour of exhibitions. Such exclusive tours will be addressed to very small groups of 3 – 5 people. The point of gravity is shifting from ‘more’ that we aspired to before the pandemic to the newly discovered ‘more intimate’. I do hope that you will find this way of engaging with art interesting.

See you at Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź!

Yours faithfully,

Jarosław Suchan

Director of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź
