Andrzej Zwierzchowski. Archaic activities
By some art critics and exhibition curators, Andrzej Zwierzchowski's work is described as focused on the problems of space, light and metaphysical references. Others note the tremendous passion for exploration present in this painting, which "does not allow the artist to linger on an already achieved solution to some painting problem"; a passion that makes this art open to the risk of seeking the new and "renouncing the comfort of communing with the known and mastered"; that it is an art resulting more from an inner experience than an external factor, emerging to a higher degree from contemplation than observation.

The word that can be used to describe the work of Andrzej Zwierzchowski is "harmony". The artist is also characterized by a constant search for new solutions. Zwierzchowski represents a very bold approach. He invents new ways rather than modifying existing ones. His life is driven by curiosity about the world, which is reflected in his art. Zwierzchowski also does not succumb to the influence of fashions, thus creating his own distinctive style.
The exhibition "Archaic Activities" by Andrzej Zwierzchowski, a painter, professor of fine arts affiliated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, has the character of a retrospective, where one can see works on paper and paintings from 1967-2023. The artist has an extremely wide field of creativity: landscapes, series of portraits, paintings on school, customs, biblical, mythological, artistic or travel themes. These are mostly the author's commentaries, observations, reminiscences, memories and reflections, often tinged with specific humor. The artist also experiments with painting matter and image form, in a spectrum from figuration to abstraction, from a single view to images in a painting, from a single canvas to kaleidoscopic or multi-element compositions.
