90th birthday of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź
During the first weekend of May at the time of pandemic, our Facebook profile was literally "flooded" with a wave of kind wishes to us- and to art- by contemporary artists. Thanks to them, we can be sure that indeed #nothingwillstoptheideaofart (#nicniezatrzymaideisztuki). We found out that the creators wish us well. We celebrated the 90th anniversary of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź together with you.

Let's bring back memories of how our history began. The J. and K. Bartoszewicz Municipal Museum of History and Art (Miejskie Muzeum Historii i Sztuki im. Juliana i Kazimierza Bartoszewiczów), located at Freedom Square 1 (Plac Wolności 1), was opened in 1930. It became a place where a year later the revolutionary collection gathered by the "a.r." group was to "settle in".
This first, important step was possible thanks to the exceptional openness of the municipality of Łódź at that time. Created with great courage, the platform has been exploring, reinterpreting and presenting avant-garde art for 90 years, using exhibition spaces and technical advancements that are constantly emerging.
Thank you that you are still with us- both online and offline!
